Lasaila Limestone Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Lasaila 50 km to the southwest of the Zhongba County, Tibet. It was named by Wu Haoruo in 1984.
Lithology and Thickness
Limestone. Exotic block of grey-white crystalline limestone, breccia, siliceous rocks and red limestone. Thickness is over 100 m
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Unknown, because it is overthrusting upon the Jurassic-Cretaceous sandstones and shales. Next older regional unit might be Jiala Fm
Upper contact
Unknown. Possible next-younger regional unit (or partly coeval) is the Langcuo Fm
Regional extent
This is an exotic block found only in the Lasaila area.

Fossils
Yields abundant fossils including Fusulinida represented by Reichelina, Dunbarula, Yangchienia, Chusenella, Schwagerina, Lantschichites and Neoschwagerina; Brachiopods such as Leptodus, Richthofenia, Chonetella, Asioproductus, Cancrinella, Waagenoconcha, Spiriferella and Neospirifer; Corals such as Tachylasma, Wentzelella, etc.
